Taking a vow of poverty doesn't lend itself to paying off college debt. Run For Nuns started with a group of priests and seminarians from the Diocese of Pittsburgh who wanted to help some religious community candidates who couldn't enter religious life until their college debt had been paid off. Registration for the 2011 Pittsburgh Marathon is officially open!! This year we're hoping to allow Run For Nuns to raise even more money to help even more young women seeking to enter religious life! If you would like to joing the priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Pittsburgh in running either the full, half or marathon relay, please contact us at: runfornuns_gmail.com! We're hoping to get as many people in Run For Nuns shirts in the Pittsburgh Marathon to help raise even more awareness for this worthy cause. Happy Trinity Sunday! As of today, together, we have raised $16,500, Praise the Lord! A special word of thanks to Lino Ruli and the Big Burrito Restaurant Group who both really helped us a lot! Thank you to each invidivdual donor who made this possible as well! Only one of the future sisters, Alicia, still needs help with her debt, so we are trying to figure out other ways to help her out. May God continue to bless each one of you abundantly!

We owe a huge thanks to Mrs. Gloria Sciarappa and the Big Burrito Restaurant Group specifically at Mad Mex for hosting our fundraiser dinner this past Sunday night which raised over $1600! We owe a big word of thanks to Lino Rulli from 'The Catholic Guy Show' on Sirius/XM Radio (http://catholicguyshow.blogspot.com/) who was so kind to spend quite a bit of time on the air to promote Run For Nuns this evening! I had to run to serve the Stations of the Cross, so I didn't get to hear the whole show, but when I left, Lino had been talking about Run For Nuns for about 45 minutes! Thanks to all of the very generous people that donated already and those that promised to donate! Because of Lino's hard work, and the generosity of many people, the amount of money donated has almost doubled! Praise God! Keep on praying and keep on spreading the word, we still have more to go!
